Aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 8, the puppet method allows children to learn English and express themselves more easily through games. It’s a real motivator for young children’s language activation.
Course stages
1. The show
At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher introduces the puppets that will be used during the lesson: Mr. Horse, Mr. Cow, Mr. Duck, Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Chicken. Then, continues the dialogue between the puppets. Thus, children are immersed in a magical world which allows them to learn new words and structures with ease. They quickly develop a relationship with puppets that represent animals.
2. The basket
Then, the teacher presents the basket which contains puppets and their accessories for them.
Students then take a puppet and practice the dialogues.
3. The games
Finally, cards and posters are used to revise the vocabulary of the day. The children learn the pronunciation and the meaning of each word. Finally, the course ends with various games such as “Simons says” (English version of “Jacques a dit”) or musical chairs in English.
